Adding a language

The Add Language page lets you create a new language file based on an existing language file. Portfolio comes with the following language files:

  • American English (en_US)
  • Canadian French (fr_CA)
  • Spanish (es_ES)
  • Catalan (ca_ES)

You can use any existing language file, including a new file you have previously created, as the basis for a new language file.

You can edit language files but you cannot delete language files.

When you add a new language file, the language is listed in the Languages bar of the Admin console and is available in Profiles as a configurable language for creating a custom page element in a profile.

To add a language

  1. Log in to the Admin console.
  2. Choose Displays from the navigation pane.
  3. Choose Language Files from the Displays menu.
  4. Choose Add Language.
  5. Type the language code for the language.

Note: The Language Code you enter must match one of the current language codes defined in the ISO standard.

  6. Select the language file to copy from the Base Language drop-down list.

The list includes only those language files that are already defined in your system.

  7. When you have finished, choose OK to save the language definition and add it to the Manage Languages list, or Cancel to return to Manage Languages without saving the changes.
